Airport Retail Enterprises engaged Noxon Giffen for the development of a cafe retail precinct within the T2 domestic terminal at Sydney Airport.
Incorporating three separate but adjacent tenancies for Brasserie Bread, Cafe 2020 and Toby’s Estate, the design creates a precinct unifying the three retailers by utilising shared circulation and seating areas. A fluid spine wall links the tenancies and separates back of house kitchen and service spaces whilst the geometry meanders through the tenancies creating independent servery and cafe seating areas.
The design uses a limited palette of natural materials including, timber, stone, leather and steel to create a rich and warm environment as a counterpoint to the bright and chaotic adjacent food court spaces.
